Always Look on the Bright Side of Life (from Monty Python)From the study of Philippians and from watching Monty Python's Spamalot last night, there is a resound calling to look for the joy in life.
Words and music by Eric Idle
Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...
And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...
If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing.
And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!Rejoice, in everything we do!
Philippians 4:4
Do everything without complaining or arguing. so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life—in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing. When we complain in anyway, we are acting selfishly. What we are doing is to advance God's plan, and if we complain we consider our plans greater than God's.
Philippians 2:14-16 (Emphasis mine)
And by holding on to joy, purity and innocent, we can shine like stars in theis crooked and depraved generation, and the world will know that we are Christians.
Now, let us song together. Spamalot was awesome, so funny, it was the first musical I've been to where we were invited to sing-a-long. Just too bad I cannot whistle.
