Well, last night, we were in a mineral hot spring at the volcano. Having a blast going down water slides, relaxing in the hot spring. Happy people all around us.
But all this happiness of people on vacation is nothing compared to the joy we experienced in one of the poorest area.
Seeing the children at the discipleship classes, watching 14 year old girl lead a group of 20 kids in knowing Jesus more, playing games with the children, face painting... And at the end thanking us endlessly for the work we do back home and blessing us with prayers in return. Pure joy.
Poverty is not lack of materialistic things. It is a lack of relationship. And witnessing how the Gospel gave these children a relationship with the Lord, and seeing the joy in there eyes, we are more poverish in Canada.
